This is one reccomendation I have no problem giving. If it wasnt for Josh I would have pulled my hair out trying to figure things out with my board.

I would highly reccommend hiring Josh if you need anything done with your UBB Threads boards. His hacks are great, he responds quickly and thoroughly and best of all he has patience.

He transferred my board over to my new server for me with no glitches and he did it in record time.
Not to mention help me with the board hacks I kept screwing up.

I truly hope he never gets sick of helping out because I would have to seriously bribe him if he did

We have a small print / pdf publication on Radio Control Model Helicopters. Because of the difficulties in a complex hobby, having an open forum on R/C helicopters is one of the most important ingredients to the success of our business. With this in mind, having someone available in the unlikely event of problems, or just upgrading, to keep up with the competition is equally as important. I first met Josh while posting some questions on the InfoPop forum. My questions were always quickly answered by him in a professional and friendly manner. To my surprise, one day I happened to read another post where Josh had upgraded another user. Well the rest is history. On my last upgrade to 6.2.3, the board was only down for 20 minutes. After the installation, he answered my questions and made some additional changes. In addition, the charges for his professional services are very reasonable as well.

I’ve sort of “known” Josh for awhile now. We have helped each other with some small items, some related to Threads and some related to Macs…LOL.

However, today I was faced with the daunting task of moving my complete web site over to Infopop’s servers. Now, I’m not too bad at html, etc, but when it comes to moving a database like that, well, let’s just say I was “nervous” So, I did what every smart person should do, hired Josh to do the db work.

Best decision I ever made as he finished the job in record time, whereas I’d have probably been at it for at least a day. Cudos to JOSH for a job VERY WELL DONE.

I’d most certainly recommend his services to anyone needed a little help or a lot of help. As a matter of fact, he is getting a link from my board to here so people can find him.

Okay, I havn’t read over the other reviews yet but I can guess they are good ones, cuz Josh is the MAN :2bow: First of all, you have to check out my web site, www.biketrip.com to really appreciate the work Josh has done for me.

I have had so many dreams for what I wanted to do with biketrip. Fortunately I stumbled on UBB.threads, and then threadsdev.com and then Josh. First I was sold on threads, it was exactly what I was looking for to establish the community. But the next challenges involved getting my rather complex database incorporated with the threads environment, and then start adding features that I only dreamed about.

We are not done yet but let me tell you about just one of the cool things Josh did. I have about 1100 trails in my database. I have always wanted a way for bikers, bike clubs set up group rides on one of those trails, or on one of their own (whether it be a trail, a route, whatever). Josh used the power of threads and his indepth knowledge of PHP/MySql to make this happen. It looks so good, and works fantastic!

THere were many MANY other things I wanted and I have no doubt this site will flourish due to Josh’s commitment to making the site GREAT. He is very quick to respond to all my questions, he moved on the project quicker than anyone I’ve ever worked with, and continues to surprise me with all he can do. I give him highest marks possible, best developer I’ve ever worked with.

When StepTogether (www.steptogether.org), a message board and support forum for stepmothers with 1000+ members was dumped in my lap in the fall of 2002, I knew very little of the technicalities outside the basic day to day running of the message board. Our new volunteer webmistress had minimal experience with SQL, so we realized quickly that we needed help from someone with expertise.

Josh got involved when he initially did an upgrade of the board, and he took care of both the upgrade and any loose ends with impressive speed and efficiency. His creative suggestions have improved our board, and he easily taught us how to do a lot of the fun stuff ourselves. He responds extremely fast to any problems and concerns (not that we have had that many lately) and fixes them so quickly and smoothly that we hardly know he’s there. I’m sure we don’t pay him nearly what he’s worth.

He’s also good with hysterical women. (Ever tried closing a board for two hours with 1000 members in urgent life crises?)

Well, Josh has done it again! Not too long ago we switched our site over to his servers, and he made us never miss a beat.

Then, yesterday, he fixed us up with the myPaymentPal software and some custom scripting, and as usual we never missed a beat.

We are endebted to him for his help, and wouldn’t hesitate to turn him loose on our site in the future…in fact, I’m sure I will!

We just went through a move in our fairly large community, at www.ifish.net, from UBB Classic, to Threads.
The move was a nightmare! I had three people to choose from, and even though my heart said, “Josh!” I was encouraged to go with someone else. I mean, after all, Josh likes Disney! How could you go wrong with a guy who has the same passions as I do?
Never again will I hire anyone else as long as Josh can find time to help us!
I never thought a guy that wears a mouse hat could do so much!
Every option that I dreamed of I wrote to him, and he says it is possible!
What a breath of fresh air, after the nightmare we went through at the start!
Anyhow, I can’t say enough good things, so I’ll just leave it at that.
I am fairly paranoid about having other people work on ifish. Not many people understand how much these sites mean to the owners. I think you, as a site owner, can understand that. From the very beginning, Josh, with his professional attitude, made me feel like I could trust him. So can you!

Having been around the block a few times I have found many individuals that offer customer service to not perform as stated. But when I get SUPER SERVICE as I have received from Josh it is worthy of a response.

First, besides the fact that this gentleman (Josh) is a true magician at what he does, he is very understanding and appreciates how business should be run.

My story.
I woke up this morning to find my board down. My web hosting service insisted it was a coding problem. I contacted Josh and explained the problem. Of course I needed this fixed right away. Josh immediately responded back and explained he was just about out the door to catch a plane but would do what he could.

The man fixed the problem! He dropped what he was doing and addressed my sense of urgency. He made my problem his priority. This is not the typical type of service one usually receives and only further exemplifies the superior manner in which Josh conducts business. He is the consummate professional.

I asked Josh to set up UBB.Threads on my new site (http://www.SpartanBand.net), and he had it up and running in about an hour!

He also promptly answered all my customization questions and really helped me to get the site looking the way I wanted it.

I think this is my third “thanks” in here to Josh, but I mean it more than ever

In the course of working with many developers over a 6 year period, I’ve yet to find anyone that gives you ANYWARE NEAR what Josh gives you for the money. His excellent coding skills and well thought out implementation always saves me money in the end.
